Tourist arrivals increase for forthcoming public holidays
The Da Nang Light and Visual Art Contest 2014 (DILVAC 2014), which was scheduled to be held in Da Nang on the evening of 30 April, has recently been cancelled following a decision by the local authorities.
Although the cancellation has partially affected the local tourism sector, the city is still seeing a significant increase in the number of tourists arriving, thanks to the great efforts of the local travel agencies.
Some of the city’s large travel agencies, including Vitours, Saigontourist and Vietravel, have taken various proactive measures to offer their customers a variety of fascinating activities on the evening of 30 April. Tourists will be taken to visit Hoi An City, or on sightseeing boat tours on the Han River to enjoy the beauty of the many bridges. Alternatively, they can visit Hue City to listen to traditional folk music on a wooden rowing boat floating down the Huong (Perfume) River.

At present, some of the local seaside and inner-city hotels are enjoying room occupancy rates of between 60% and 80%, and many are fully booked for the forthcoming 5-day break.
