Da Nang’s travel companies said that the city is expected to welcome a large number of domestic visitors between late April and September.  The number of domestic visitors is likely to make up 80% of the total tourist arrivals to the city, proving that domestic tourism contributes significantly to the revenue of the city’s tourism sector.  Amongst the varying types of tourism, beach tourism is likely to attract the largest number.

The city’s main travel agencies are focusing on exploiting the northern market.  According to a recent survey, up to 70% of tourists booking trips to the city are from the north.  In addition, the city is seeing an increasing number of visitors from Ho Chi Minh City and its neighbouring provinces of Tien Giang, Dong Thap and Can Tho.

Beach tourism is expected to attract more domestic visitors

Taking advantages of the perfect harmony between picturesque mountains, beautiful beaches, and romantic rivers, Da Nang is planning to develop its own special tourism products - beach, holiday and eco-tourism.  Amongst these, beach tourism is considered as the most important for the development of local tourism as the city's spearhead economic sector.
