Consumer prices increase slightly in July
Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in July is expected to have risen by 0.2% against the previous month.
The highest increases during the month are in housing, electricity, water, fuels, and building materials, all at 0.87%, followed by transportation at 0.5%.
The prices of garments, hats and footwear have increased by 0.15%, whilst those of household appliances and equipment rose by 0.13%.
During the month, the prices of beverages and tobacco have increased by 0.12%, whilst food prices climbed by 0.16%.
Meanwhile, culture, entertainment and tourism services show a slight increase at 0.10%.
The local market seems to have remained relatively stable in July. In particular, entertainment, tourism, eating and drinking services have shown a vibrancy during these summer months.
Over the month, the total value of retail sales of goods and services is expected to have reached 6,813 billion VND. This will bring the first 7 months’ figure to an estimated 46,088 billion VND, an increase of 10.7% compared with the same period last year, and representing 64.2% of the year’s target.
