VietJet Air began operating direct flights from Da Nang to Can Tho  yesterday.  On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays they will depart from Da Nang at 12.00pm and arrive in Can Tho City at 1.30pm.  The return flights will depart from Can Tho at 2.00pm and arrive back into Da Nang at 3.30pm.

The new service will provide a total capacity of 1,100 seats per week for passengers travelling between Da Nang and Can Tho City in response to the increasing travel demands of local residents and visitors.

The opening of this service is expected to foster the development of Can Tho City’s tourism and economic sectors as well as attract more investments.  This will help to reaffirm the city’s position as an economic hub in the Mekong Delta.  Meanwhile, the new route should also attract more visitors from the delta to Da Nang.

To mark the opening, VietJet Air gave health insurance cards to 400 poor people from Da Nang and Can Tho.

On the same day, leaders of Da Nang and Can Tho briefed each other on the remarkable achievements gained by their localities over recent years, as well as discussed aspects in which both localities have the greatest potential.  This will help the 2 cities to further promote their bilateral cooperation through the organisation of cooperative programmes and projects in all aspects in the years ahead.
