August CPI up 0.12%
Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August is expected to have risen by 0.12% against the previous month.
The prices of food, household appliances and equipment have increased by 0.28%, whilst those of provisions, medicines and healthcare services have risen by 0.1%.
Garments, hats and footwear prices have climbed by 0.32%, whilst the prices of cultural, entertainment and tourism services increased by 0.11%, and those of education rose by 0.02%.
The local market seems to have remained relatively stable in August. The reason is thought to be an abundance of goods in the city whilst consumer spending has remained weak.
Over the month, the total value of retail sales of goods and services is likely to have reached 6,446 billion VND. This will bring the first 8 months’ figure to an estimated 51,983 billion VND, an increase of 9.7% compared with the same period last year and representing 72.5% of the year’s target.
