The 2014 International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade and Tourism Fair opened at the Da Nang International Exhibition Fair Centre on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street last Friday morning. 

Present at the opening ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr Do Thang Hai, and the Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, plus representatives from the Laotian Consulate General in Da Nang, and from the Royal Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.  In addition, representatives were present from those Laotian and Thai localities which have stands at the fair, and the participating businesses from 13 cities and provinces across Viet Nam.

This year’s fair, which is open until Wednesday, has attracted around 150 domestic and foreign businesses, with about 300 stands in total.  Of special note is the first-ever stand from South Africa.
