More fishing boats to be built
On Thursday afternoon, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Mr Vu Van Tam, had a working session with some of Da Nang’s leaders to review the city’s implementation of Government Decree No 67/2014/ND-CP regarding fisheries development policies.
During the meeting, the municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, said that under the government’s decree 138 fishermen, one individual and 7 businesses have so far registered to build 161 offshore fishing boats and 23 support ships in the city. However, only 47 of the boats will be allowed to enjoy benefits from the decree, he added. He said that he would like MARD to give approval for more fishing boats to be built in order to bring benefits to a greater number of local fishermen.
