9-month socio-economic performance reviewed
The Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee (PC), Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, has said that the city’s economic sectors have seen reasonable growth over the past 9 months of this year.
Between January and September, the city’s gross domestic product (GDP) climbed by 9.27% compared with the same period last year to hit an estimated 28.9 trillion VND. Over the period, the total value of retail sales of goods and services reached over 59.5 trillion VND, representing nearly 83% of the year’s target. In addition, the city welcomed over 3 million visitors both from home and abroad, and earned over 7.8 trillion VND from tourism.
During the period, the city’s total State budget collection is estimated to have been over 8.6 trillion VND, fulfilling 79% of the year’s estimates set by the city. Of this, the domestic collection hit over 6.6 trillion VND, and over 1.8 trillion VND came from import and export tax collections.
The Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Vo Duy Khuong, remarked that the increase in GDP totally proves the city’s economic progress. During the 9-month period, the majority of the local economic sectors have seen growth of over 10%, with the tourism sector in particular growing by 19%.
