The retail price of pork in Da Nang has recently risen by over 5,000 VND per kg, and it is expected to continue this upward trend over the coming rain and storm season.

According to the Dac Vinh Company, a local pork supplier, the city usually sees a hike in the price of pork from October to each year end.  However, this year there was also a slight increase in pork prices in June and July and consumption has been unusually low.  Currently, the price per kg of live pig bought by the Dac Vinh Company is around 53,000 VND, whilst that of pork is 73,000 VND.

Meanwhile, the price of a carton of Larue beer cans has climbed by 10,000 VND over the past 3 days to between 190,000 and 192,000 VND.  The increase has only been applied to cans of Larue beer whilst the price of their bottled beer, along with those of other brand names such as Tiger and Heineken, remains unchanged.
