A new transformer and power transmission lines have recently been put into use at the 500kV Thanh My transformer station which is located in Ca Dang Village, Ta B’Hing Commune, Nam Giang District, Quang Nam Province. 

The new transformer will transmit the maximum volume of electricity from the SeKaMan Hydropower Plant No 3 in Laos, along with the plants of Dak Mi No 1 and 4 and Song Bung No 2 and 4 on the western side of Quang Nam Province, to the national power grid.  In addition, the transformer will help to connect with the 500kV and 220kV transmission systems across the central region and highlands. 

The operation of the transformer and transmission lines will play an important role in ensuring stable and sufficient electricity supplies for both Quang Nam Province and Da Nang.  In addition, it will contribute significantly to increasing the power transmission capacity and reducing transmission losses.
