Fuel prices drop, but prices of essential goods remain unchanged
Since the start of this year, domestic fuel prices have decreased on 12 separate occasions, yet the prices of many essential goods have remained unchanged in Da Nang.
According to a recent survey conducted by the city’s relevant agencies, the prices of essential and consumer products that are being sold at local markets have yet to fall. In particular, there have been no decreases in the prices of vegetables and fruit on sale at the Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market over the past few months. Most notably, the prices of some vegetables, like water morning-glory, basil and salad, have even increased.
A large number of traders at local markets claim that, despite the decreases in fuel prices over the year, the prices of essential food might have to increase due to bad harvests and natural disasters.
