The Da Nang authorities have cancelled the “25-storey tower in the shape of a lighthouse on the Han River” project which was to be developed by the city-based DHC-Marina Joint Stock Investment Company. 

The decision was officially revealed by municipal Party Committee Secretary Tran Tho during his telephone interview with a reporter from the Da Nang Newspaper on Wednesday, whilst he was on a business trip to Ha Noi.

Secretary Tho praised the active involvement of the city’s media agencies in releasing relevant news on the project, along with scientists, architects, social and cultural activists, investors and other concerned individuals who had provided their comprehensive analyses.  He remarked that their opinions had demonstrated their love for the city, as well as expressed their desire for preserving the beauty of the river and protecting the city’s urban landscapes and the surrounding environment.

The city leader affirmed that the city’s authorities would encourage the project’s developer to choose a more suitable site for its contruction.
