Following recent approval by the Prime Minister, the Da Nang Department of Tourism will soon be created by dividing up the existing Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Ministry of Finance, relevant central government agencies, and the Da Nang People’s Committee will jointly develop a draft plan for building specific mechanisms to achieve the split.  This draft plan, which will relate to the city’s financial and budgetary sectors, investment policies and decentralised administration, will be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval in March.

The idea is aimed at ensuring that Da Nang will further develop as one of Viet Nam’s largest urban areas and an industrial, commercial and service hub in the central region.
