Discovery tours becoming more attractive to tourists
In recent years, Da Nang’s discovery tourism has drawn a great deal of attention from travellers, especially young people. The main reason is that this type of tourism provides visitors with the opportunity to discover and experience local tourist attractions in their own way instead of taking part in travel agencies’ pre-arranged tours.
Da Nang has many varied attractions but many of them receive only a few visitors. In an effort to expand the range of attractions for visitors, some of the city’s travel agencies have launched new discovery tours.

The Tuoi Tre Viet (Vietnamese Youth) Tourism Company is a typical example. This is the first travel company in the city to organise a walking tour to the Gieng Troi (Heaven Well) in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Ninh Commune.
The company’s Director, Mrs Dang Thi Khanh Van, said that despite the quite long and difficult walk, visitors to this venue will be rewarded by the sounds of a gurgling waterfall and frogs croaking, and seeing many luminous fireflies at night.
Currently, the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches has many eco-tourism tours available for visitors. These include tours to discover the Son Tra Peninsula by bike or jeep, and diving to explore the coral reefs from glass bottom coracles and kayaks.
In order to take full advantage of these tours, the joint efforts of the board and local travel companies will focus on making the peninsula and other local must-see sites more attractive to visitors both from home and abroad.
