Goods worth over 310 billion VND already stockpiled for Tet
According to the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, a total of 11 local businesses have already spent an estimated 310 billion VND in total stocking up on essential goods in preparation for Tet.
In particular, BigC Mall has Tet goods already in store worth about 15 billion VND, Co.op Mart about 30 billion VND, the city’s branch of the Viet Nam Industrial Livestock Production Company (VISSAN) over 20 billion VND, Metro an estimated 30 billion VND, Lotte Mart more than 19 billion VND, Intimex nearly 16 billion VND, and the Da Nang Me Coc Company 3.1 billion VND. In addition, the Da Nang Food Company has stored 450 tonnes of rice, valued at over 5 billion VND, whilst the Dac Vinh Company has stockpiled 100 tonnes of pork.

The city has seen an increase of between 20% and 30% in the volume of foods, confectioneries and beverages stored by local food agencies against last month.
The owner of a food shop on Nguyen Luong Bang Street, Mrs Huynh Thi Lien Huong, said that since early December her shop has stored hundreds of cartons of beer and soft drinks to avoid the expected price increases in the days leading up to Tet. She added that, apart from domestic candies and cakes, many of these products have been imported from countries such as China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and the USA.
