January CPI set to be up 0.05%
Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in January is likely to have risen by 0.05% against December.
The prices of all consumer products have risen slightly during the month, with the highest increases expected to be in food at 1.63% followed by garments, hats and footwear at 0.63%.
The prices of many items have remained stable, including pharmaceutical products, healthcare services, education, and post and telecommunications.

During the month, the price of building materials has decreased by over 1%, whilst that of transportation went down by 4.13%. The fall in transportation cost is due mainly to the 2 reductions in domestic petrol and diesel retail prices on 6 and 21 January.
Although not included in the CPI calculations, at this stage in the month the price of gold has increased by 1% and the exchange rate for the US dollar has risen by 0.07% against the previous month.
