The Da Nang People’s Committee recently approved market price stabilisation regulations for accommodation, bus, taxi and boat transport, restaurants and vehicle parking fees from 1 February to 2 May.

The regulations aim to avoid overcharging during the Tet Festival in February, the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC 2015) being held on 28 and 29 April, the National Reunification Day on 30 April, and May Day on 1 May.

Local accommodation providers will be required to declare their room rates to relevant management agencies no later than 15 March.  They will not be allowed to increase their room rates by more than 50% above normal, and they will have to display their prices in their reception areas to allow supervision by local agencies.

Meanwhile, local taxi, bus and boat service providers will have to present their fares to local relevant agencies soon.  In addition, their fares must be displayed inside their vehicles, as well as at local coach depots and rest stops.

Also under the regulations, local food and drink providers will be asked to keep their service prices unchanged.  Their prices will have to be publicly displayed in order to avoid confusing their customers.

During the DIFC 2015 festival, parking fees for bicycles and motorbikes will be set at 2,000 VND and 5,000 VND respectively, whilst between 30,000 VND and 70,000 VND can be collected for each parked car, depending on the size of the vehicle.
