Tourist arrivals up by 38.6% over Christmas and New Year
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city welcomed 110,856 domestic and international tourists over the Christmas and New Year holidays, up 38.6% against the same period last year.
Of this figure, the number of foreigners climbed by 32.5% to 60,943, whilst domestic visitors rose by 46.8% to 49,913.
During the 4-day New Year holiday break, the number of foreign guests staying at the city’s 5-star seaside holiday resorts, luxury apartments and villas made up between 75% and 80% of the total. The majority of them were from China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia and European countries.

Most notably, 99% of the guests staying at the Crowne Plaza Danang were from China and other Chinese-speaking countries. They had arrived on charter flights from some of the major cities and provinces of China.
Meanwhile, the 4 and 5-star hotels located in the inner-city attracted mainly domestic visitors.
Room occupancy rates of between 75% and 80% were reported at the local 4 and 5-star hotels and other similar-standard accommodation establishments.
