Two Vietnamese budget airlines are offering nearly-free tickets for several domestic routes to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, or Tet.

Jetstar Pacific is selling tickets at VND5,000 (23 U.S. cents) per turn from Thursday to Sunday for five of its newly-opened domestic routes, including the Thanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot and Buon Ma Thuot – Hai Phong services, and flights that connect Ho Chi Minh City with Quy Nhon, Dong Hoi, and Tuy Hoa.

The promotional airfares are valid for flights departing during Tet and in March, April, May, September and October this year, according to VTC News.

No-frills carrier VietJet Air is also launching a month-long promotional program offering tickets at zero cost to embrace its 10 millionth passenger.

The campaign will run from 12:00 to 14:00 (Vietnamese time) every day from January 12 to February 12, 2015, the carrier said in a press release.

The promotion applies to all bookings made online only at the airline’s website and Facebook page.

The tickets, starting at 0 VND, apply to all domestic routes and international flights from destinations within Viet Nam to Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia, according to VietJet Air.

The travel period for the promotion begins on January 20 and ends on December 31, except for public holidays such as Tet, the airline noted.

VietJet Air said a passenger in the coming weeks could be its 10 millionth passenger and win amazing prizes.

“This lucky passenger is supposed to come out before the end of January 2015,” it said.
