Over recent years, Da Nang has seen a boom in car repair garages, especially on streets such as Nguyen Huu Tho, Ton Duc Thang and Nguyen Tat Thanh.

In these days leading up to the Tet Festival, there is a high demand from local car owners for repair and maintenance services.  Therefore, the mechanics at these garages usually work very hard from early in the morning until late at night.

The owners of some local garages report that, generally speaking, their male customers want to have their cars’ important parts, such as brakes, lights and indicators, carefully checked to ensure safety.  By contrast, their female customers usually want their vehicles installing with some device for convenience or aesthetic purposes - DVD drives, audio amplifiers or in-car camera surveillance systems.

Local automobile experts advise that car users should not have their vehicles installed with too many support devices because they can sometimes bring problems such as in-car partial power failures.  In addition, VCD screens should never be installed in view of drivers because they may distract their attention from driving.
