Hue T-junction overpass third-level spans joined

According to the project’s developer, the Trung Nam Group, the main spans of the third level of the Hue T-junction overpass have now been joined successfully. 

The work, which involved 190 m3 of concrete, marks an important milestone in the progress of the project.

According to the company, over 92% of the project’s construction work has been completed so far.

Construction of the 3-level overpass officially began on 28 September 2013 and, since then, over 1,000 workers have been working 3 shifts a day to keep the construction on track.  The workers are now busy completing the remaining items in order to ensure that the overpass can be officially opened to traffic on 29 March 2015 to mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang.

Following approval by the city’s People’s Committee, 25 billion VND from the city’s budget will be spent on lighting systems and landscaping at the junction.

Colour-changing LED (light-emitting diode) lights will be installed around the overpass’s piers and on its main concrete tower.  The lights will help to give good visibility for road users and create an impressive lighting effect at night.  Meanwhile, colour changing LED lights will be installed around the  roundabouts and the tower’s suspension cables.

Regarding the landscaping, “Cay Cau Vua” (Roystonea regia) and “Cay Bui Chuoi Ngoc” (Duranta repens) trees will be grown along the lane dividers between Dien Bien Phu and Truong Chinh streets.  In addition, “Cay Giang Huong” (Pterocarpus macrocarpus) trees will be planted along the dividers linking Ton Duc Thang with a section of the north-west traffic axis No 1.  “Co La Gung” (Axonopus compressus) grass, which is often used as a full of vitality permanent pasture, will be grown along the dividers under the piers of the main tower.
