50 billion VND invested by Japanese companies in last 2 months
On Wednesday, the Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, played host to a group of Japanese businesspeople who were visiting the city to seek investment opportunities in the IT sector.
During January and February, Da Nang has granted investment licences to 3 Japanese businesses with a total investment capital of around 50 billion VND. The city is now home to 13 Japanese companies and representative offices, of which two have invested in the Hi-tech Park.
Apart from investing in production activities, Japan has also opened 5 centres in the city to provide language training courses for locals and to help the city to develop its human resources. The Japanese government has provided official development assistance (ODA) capital for some of the city’s infrastructure and social welfare projects. These are a livestock and poultry slaughter-house, waste recycling, and carbon dioxide emission controlling.
