The domestic retail prices of petrol increased on 11 March, yet the prices of many food items on sale at Da Nang’s markets have remained stable, or even decreased slightly, compared with last week.

In detail, the price per kg of pork is ranging between 90,000 and 120,000 VND, depending on the type.  Meanwhile, the prices per kg of cha bo (grilled beef pate) and cha heo (grilled pork pate) are at 220,000 VND and 140,000 VND respectively.

However, the prices of vegetables and fruits have been fluctuating.  The prices of oranges and lemons remain high due to being out of season and an increased demand for them from local residents.  The price per kg of oranges is between 35,000 and 40,000 VND, whilst yellow lemons sourced from Ho Chi Minh City are 50,000 VND, and green lemons from the same source are 40,000 VND.

Currently, the transport costs of fruits, vegetables and other fresh items are ranging from 1.6 to 1.8 million VND per tonne, whilst those of garlic, spring onions and dry items are between 1.3 and 1.5 million VND per tonne.
