Seminar on ways to fully integrate into EU market
A seminar entitled “The EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) - How It Matters for Vietnamese Business Community” recently took place in Da Nang. The event was jointly held by the city’s branch of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the European Union (EU) Delegation to Viet Nam.
The seminar aimed to help businesses operating in the city to learn how to access the EU market in the right way as EVFTA is expected to officially come into effect in the next 2 or 3 years.

Representatives from the event’s organisers introduced participants to the negotiation process of EVFTA, as well as the opportunities and challenges when Vietnamese businesses integrate into the EU market, which has very strict business regulations. In addition, export support policies and experiences in cooperating with EU partners were discussed at the event.
Also at the event, representatives from local businesses asked the EU Delegation to Viet Nam to persuade the EU to simplify export procedures for Vietnamese items such as seafood, agricultural products, and garments and textiles, as well as to recognise Viet Nam’s market economy.
