At a meeting in Da Nang on Tuesday, the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) set this year’s export target at 28.5 billion USD, a 14.5% rise against 2014.

In an effort to reach this target, its focus will be on enhancing the management of textiles and garments businesses, and attracting more foreign direct investment (FDI).  Importance will be attached to diversifying its markets to avoid over-reliance on any one raw materials supplier.

Also for 2015, heed will be paid to developing dedicated raw materials' growing areas located near spinning, dyeing and weaving facilities.  Special attention will be paid to creating close links between the association’s members in order to increase the number of value-added textiles and garments products and to avoid anti-dumping.
