Work started on an engine casting plant for the Niwa Foundry Viet Nam Company at Da Nang’s Hi-tech Park on Thursday.  Covering an area of 3.11ha, the new plant involves a total investment of 30 million USD.  

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Niwa Foundry Viet Nam, Mr Tatsumi Niwa, remarked that over the past 2 years his company has paid special attention to preparing well for the construction of the plant in Da Nang.  At the same time, he added, his company has found many customers for the new plant’s products both in the city and in Binh Duong Province.

Mr Niwa also said that, once fully operational, the new plant will produce 480,000 engine castings each year.  Starting from 2019, it will raise its production capacity to 4.5 million per year and export its products to various countries worldwide.

The plant’s engine castings will be used in ship building, industrial and agricultural machinery, and many other sectors.
