With around 2 weeks to go to the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2015 (DIFC 2015), the city is currently very busy preparing for the event.

Many local specialised shops and large supermarkets, like Co.op Mart, BigC Mall and Metro, are implementing consumer stimulation campaigns to meet the shopping demands of local residents and visitors.  In recent days, there have not been dramatic changes in the prices of goods across the city due to low purchasing power.

Under the city’s price stabilisation regulations, parking fees for bicycles and motorbikes will be set at 2,000 VND and 5,000 VND respectively, whilst between 30,000 VND and 70,000 VND can be collected for each parked car, depending on the size of the vehicle.  Parking service providers will have to register for the number of vehicle keepers and parking areas at their wards for management.

The local accommodation services are expected to enjoy the greatest benefits from the forthcoming event.  The city’s Market Management Board reported that during its 10-day inspection visit to local hotels and restaurants, no violations relating to unreasonable increases in room rates were reported.  However, some local food traders and restaurants were found violating the city’s food safety and hygiene regulations.

The Deputy Director of the municipal Industry and Trade and Head of the Market Management Board, Mr Lu Bang, remarked that the local Market Management force are increasing their checks over local hospitality providers from now until the DIFC 2015, including during weekends and holidays.  He added that any cases of violation relating to hospitality services will face high penalties in accordance with the city's regulations.
