Proposed new 100 billion VND road alongside railway

The municipal People’s Committee recently asked the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport to allocate funds for building a road alongside a section of the railway between the Hue T-junction and the Hoa Cam overpasses.
The 5.492km-long and 5m-wide road will have 1.5m-wide pavements. It will also feature dual-level corrugated metal fences which will be 3m away from the outer edge of the railway.
The estimated cost of building the road is around 100billion VND. Of this figure, 30billion VND from the city’s budget will be spent on site clearance and compensation for affected families, whilst it is hoped that the Ministry of Transport will fund the remainder.
