During a meeting in Da Nang on Wednesday between representatives from the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and the Hai Chau District authorities, TMF agreed to grant 350 million yen (2.9 million USD) in aid to the district’s urban traffic improvement project.

The project will be implemented from July 2015 to March 2018 with a focus on improving improve traffic flows in the district on the basis of the application of Toyota technologies and those of its partners.

In detail, importance will be attached to developing public bus transportation systems on some of the district’s streets where there are many government agencies, schools and commercial centres.  In addition, shuttle bus services will connect local residential areas with busy places, and smart parking areas will be created.

Once it is completed, the project will help to ease traffic congestion and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles.  In turn, this should contribute to improving the living conditions of local residents.
