Effective measures to develop start-up business incubators

As part of the 'Developing Businesses in Da Nang towards 2020' programme, a workshop entitled ‘Establishing and Developing Start-up Business Incubators in Da Nang’ recently took place in the city.

The event was attended by some economic experts from South Korea, along with representatives from Ho Chi Minh City-based business incubators, the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the World Bank, the University of Da Nang and some local businesses.

The discussions focused on effective ways to help Da Nang to develop suitable, high-quality and large-scale business incubators and support policies issued by the central government and the city authorities.  In addition, valuable lessons learned from the operation of business incubators in South Korea and Ho Chi Minh City were presented at the event.

Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Vo Duy Khuong highlighted the important role of start-up business activities which are receiving a great deal of attention from businesses, university students and anyone wanting to start-up their own businesses in Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

Vice Chairman Khuong also stressed the need for the city to develop start-up business incubators in order to boost the development of the local economy.  He said that this would help to develop local professional entrepreneurs, as well as enhance competiveness among local businesses and uphold local business culture and community responsibility.
