On Thursday, representatives from the Da Nang Department of Construction, the municipal Construction Planning Institute, and the Hai Chau District People’s Committee discussed the installation of new types of canopies over the fronts of businesses, shops and houses along some of the city’s major streets.

Many new types of canopy are now being designed and manufactured.  They are highly appreciated for their aesthetic characteristics, high durability, convenience and simple operation.  In particular, many canopies are now made from dust-proof and anti-thermal radiation materials.

At the discussion, the participants stressed the need to install new canopies to help protect stores from direct sunlight and rain as well as satisfy the purposes of trading activities.

New types of canopies will soon be installed on a section of Hung Vuong street on a pilot basis.  The local authorities will appeal for donations from local donors to implement the installation.  The best type of canopy will then be selected for installation along other local streets in the near future.
