The Chamber of Commerce and Industry from the Russian province of Primorye plans to open its representative office in Da Nang in 2015, the chamber’s President Boris Stupnitsky has told “Dien Dan Doanh Nghiep” (Business Forum).

The move aims to support Vietnamese and Russian businesses to implement collaborative projects effectively and grasp new cooperation opportunities from the free trade agreement recently signed between Viet Nam and the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU), he said.

He added that the Primorye commercial chamber has waited a long time for investment opportunities in Viet Nam. He noted that Russia is strong at manufacturing machines, equipment and science-technology, while Vietnamese products such as garments and textiles, footwear and fruits are favoured in the Russian market.

He added that the Primorye representative office will create the best conditions for Vietnamese firms to make inroads into Russia and Primorye in particular.

He also confirmed the establishment of a logistics business group between Viet Nam and Russia to make seaport trade activities busier.
