The project is being implemented in 3 stages. The 3,462 billion VND 1st stage began in 2012 and should be completed by the end of this year, whilst the 2,461 billion VND 2nd stage will take place from 2016 to 2018 and the 2,918 billion VND 3rd stage will be added between 2019 and 2020.
According to the Head of the project's Management Board, Mr Ho Thuyen, the clearance of 328ha at the site has been completed. A total of 1,266 families affected by the project, and 14,231 graves, have been relocated. The technical infrastructure has been fully constructed on an area of 150ha, with the internal roads, electricity and water supply systems, and information technology infrastructure already installed. The project’s construction units are aiming to complete the infrastructure on an area of 200ha by the end of this year in order to attract more domestic and foreign investors.
To date, the Da Nang Hi-tech Park has attracted 2 Japanese companies with a total investment capital of 61.87 million USD.
However, the project is progressing slower than expected mainly due to delays in the disbursement of capital for the project and some site clearance difficulties.
