Viet Nam economy grows 6.81% in Q3
The country's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.81% in the third quarter and by 6.5% in the first 9 months of this year, the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) has reported.
The institute attributed the significant improvement of mid-term trend in the third quarter to increases in investment, consumption and economic institutional reforms.
Consumption in the first third quarter rose by 9.1% compared to the same period last year.

Industrial and construction sectors continued to be the main driving force for the country's economic growth.
Added value of this sector was up 9.6% in the first 9 months, much higher than that of agro-forestry and aqua-culture products and services.
The institute also forecasted fourth-quarter economic growth this year would reach 6.83%. For the whole year, economic growth is forecasted to increase by 6.61%.
