Fashion fairs attract young shoppers
Over recent years, many young people with a keen interest in selling fashion items in Da Nang have participated in numerous small-scale fairs in order to attract more young shoppers.
22-year-old Vo Phan Thao Dung from Thanh Khe District organised a fair in May at the Binh Thuan Ward Cultural House in Hai Chau District. Her fair featured a total of over 50 stands from other young local traders, and offered a wide range of popular products such as footwear, clothes, cosmetics and bags.

Dung said that she is now very busy making preparations for her next fair at the cultural house on 15 November. In addition to widely publicising her fair, the young girl has visited Ho Chi Minh City to learn more about fairs there, and this has helped her to develop new ideas to ensure the success of her upcoming event. Dung revealed that there will be a lovely photo shoot location at the fair for the visitors.
So far, the owners of over 50 fashion shops from Da Nang, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City have registered to participate in the 15 November fair. The traders will be required to pay the event’s organisers between 350,000 and 400,000 VND to set up their stands there.
For her monthly fairs in the future, Dung intends to seek another location in the city which has a more favourable geographical position. She said she hoped that such local fairs would become increasingly attractive to young traders and shoppers.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old Le Thi Giang Chau, the owner of the Emma Le shop on Hoang Dieu Street, has participated in many local fairs over recent years. She remarked that such events have helped local fashion shops introduce their products to more local customers, earn good revenue from sales, and encourage more visitors to recommend their shops to others.
Another young trader, 24-year-old Mai Anh, has nearly 7 years of experience in trading cosmetics in the city. She highlighted the efficiency and effectiveness of such fairs because these events offer a good opportunity for local consumers to easily access their favourite items at reasonable prices. In addition, the fairs are considered to be a good option for people who do not like spending a lot of time visiting local markets or shops.
She also suggested that importance should be attached to further publicising local fairs amongst the general public in order to boost their development to the level of those in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
