DA NANG Today
Published: November 13, 2015

Since 2007, the Da Nang Month for Sales Promotions programme has been held annually in December to stimulate local consumer demand at the end of the year.

Over the years, the programme has played a vital role in stimulating the shopping activities of local residents, making the city’s market more vibrant, and promoting the implementation of the local trade policies more effectively.  Thanks to the programme, local shoppers have enjoyed buying many items at preferential prices, whilst the participating businesses have had the opportunity to introduce their products to new customers and increase their revenues at the end of the year.

In 2013 and 2014, a total of over 500 local businesses participated in the city’s Month for Sales Promotions, and together they offered 1,000 attractive preferential programmes to local shoppers.

In an attempt to attract even more shoppers to this year’s Month for Sales Promotions programme which begins on 1 December, the focus will be on developing even more new and attractive promotional activities for customers.  There will be banners advertising the programme at some local roundabouts and on websites and social networks, and leaflets about the event will be distributed to passengers arriving at Da Nang International Airport.

The municipal Department of Industry and Trade has asked this year’s participating businesses to offer good quality products and services with big discounts of up to 50%.  In addition, traders at some of the main inner-city markets are being encouraged to become involved in the programme in order to ensure its sustainable development in the years ahead.  Also, local supermarkets are being asked to offer even more new and attractive promotional programmes beyond those they have already launched in recent months.

The Head of the Accommodation Providers Management Office of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms Truong Thi Hong Hanh, remarked that this programme provides the opportunity for local trading and tourism businesses to introduce their new products to local consumers.  She suggested, therefore, that participating businesses should display the prices of their products and services, and sell them at the displayed prices, in addition to ensuring the quality of their items in order to win the trust of local customers.
