Plans for improving State management of tourism activities
The Da Nang People’s Committee recently revealed detailed plans to implement the Prime Minister-approved Directive No14/CT-TTg about enhancing the State management of the tourism sector.
In detail, local relevant agencies will be responsible for asking tourism service providers at local tourist sites and rest stops to publicly display their prices and ensure that their products are being sold at the displayed prices.

Local travel agencies will have to strictly implement their contracts for tourism programmes signed with their customers, and ensure the good quality of their services. Strict penalties will be imposed on any local foreign-invested travel agency found conducting illegal business activities in the city.
Special heed will also be paid to increasing checks on, and the monitoring of, the operation of local tour guides for both domestic and foreign visitors. Stronger measures will be taken to deal with any tour guide who colludes with local tourist service providers and the drivers of tourist coaches to arbitrarily cancel some parts of tours booked with their customers in exchange for receiving illegal commissions.
Effective plans will be developed to attract more visitors from Germany, France, the UK, Italy, and Spain. Visitors from these European countries are now benefiting from the visa-free travel policy which was introduced by the government in July.
Importance will also be attached to advertising the city’s image to international friends through the organisation of large-scale international events in the city. They will include the 2015 - 2016 Clipper Round the World Race which will stop off in the city in February 2016, the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG 5) from 24 September to 3 October 2016, an international workshop on tourism and sports in mid-September 2016 on the sidelines of ABG 5, and the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in October 2017.
