On Thursday, the Vietnam Red Cross Society and Da Nang Red Cross Society jointly broke ground on the central region aid depot project in the city. This will be the biggest facility of its kind in the country.
Covering an area of 6,000m2, the 2-storey depot will be located on the section of National Highway 1A between the Do (Red) Bridge and the Hoa Chau Commune People’s Committee in Hoa Vang District. The construction cost will be 27 billion VND in total which will come from the State budget.
The aid depot will be used to stockpile relief supplies which can then be immediately distributed to any disaster-affected areas nationwide.
