City branch of VCCI does well
Representatives from around 100 member businesses in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces recently gathered in Da Nang for a meeting of central region members of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
Addressing the event, the municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, praised the Da Nang branch of VCCI and its member businesses for their remarkable achievements over recent years. He spoke highly of the active involvement of the organisation and local authorities in creating mechanisms and support policies for local businesses in order to help them develop their production activities.
The city leader highlighted its vital role in effectively implementing the local ‘Year for Businesses 2015’ and ‘Building Business Incubators’ programmes. He added that this has helped to make significant contributions to the city’s budget, create job opportunities for local residents, and ensure the local social welfare programme.
Since the start of this year, a total of 127 support events for local businesses have been organised in the city. Included were 2 meetings on taxation and customs, 7 trade promotion workshops, 29 discussions and forums to discuss effective measure to develop business activities, and 72 training courses for local businesses. In addition, the organisation has become actively involved in introducing local businesses to useful information about the recently-signed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
Also at the event, leaders from the city’s branch of VCCI admitted 36 new members to the organisation and presented Certificates of Merit to 45 local businesses and associations in recognition of their great efforts to promote the development of the Vietnamese business community in 2015.
