In an attempt to meet the increasing demand for pork in the days leading up to the Tet Festival 2016, Da Nang will lend local businesses a total of 4 billion VND at 0% interest to store this type of meat.

The meat will then be sold at 10 - 15% below the market price at 13 locations and 2 mobile shops in busy areas of the city between 2 and 7 February 2016.  In particular, the price per kg of pork butt is expected to be 100,000 VND whilst that of pork shoulder should be 90,000 VND.

In addition, sales programmes will be organised in local industrial parks and remote rural areas from 26 January to 2 February 2016.  The intention is to bring high-quality products, with a clear source of origin, to local workers and rural residents at reasonable prices to help them celebrate Tet.

These sales fairs are scheduled to be held in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Khanh Industrial Park (IP) on 26 and 27 January, Son Tra District’s Tho Quang IP on 28 and 29 January, Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Bac Commune on 30 and 31 January, and in the same district’s Hoa Phu Commune on 1 and 2 February.

The municipal People's Committee has recently urged the city’s Department of Industry and Trade to increase its checks over the origin of products on sale in these areas and ensure the goods are being sold at the displayed prices under the local market price stabilisation programme.  Strict penalties will be imposed on anyone who sells fake or counterfeit goods, or increases the prices of products on sale at these areas.
