VCCI to continue supporting local businesses
During his reception for the President of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr Vu Tien Loc, the Da Nang Party Committee Secretary, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, reported that over the next 5 years Da Nang will pay particular attention to promoting the development of the service, hi-tech and information technology industries, as well as developing high-quality human resources to help local progress.
Secretary Anh said that in preparation for the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, which will take place in Da Nang in October 2017, some new infrastructure projects will be implemented in the city. In particular, 3,200 billion VND from the central government’s budget will be spent on upgrading the Da Nang International Airport and constructing a new terminal there. Construction has started already and it is scheduled to be completed by September 2017.
The city leader said that he would like the VCCI to continue its support for the city’s businesses in the years ahead, and to appeal for more potential investors to put their money into aspects to which the city has given top priority.
President Loc highly praised the city for its remarkable development over recent years, especially in tourism and private economic sectors, and he said that VCCI is willing to support the city's progress. He promised that, initially, the focus will be on helping the city to develop its trade promotion activities and promote the development of local tourism and hi-tech industries.
