The Da Nang business incubators centre officially opened on Thursday.

The new centre operates under the name of the Da Nang Start-up Support and Investment Company Ltd and it has an initial charter capital of around 30 billion VND.  Of this figure, 20 billion VND has come from the city’s Investment and Development Fund, whilst the remainder has been donated by local individuals and businesses.

The centre will play a vital role in bringing projects with great development potential to fruition, and promoting research and innovation activities amongst students of universities, junior colleges and vocational schools in Da Nang, and in Viet Nam as a whole.

Addressing the opening event, municipal People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho spoke highly of the great efforts made by local relevant agencies, plus the centre’s management board and members, to put the centre into operation in order to meet the expectations of the local start-up business community.  The city leader stressed the need to issue preferential policies to facilitate the implementation of local start-up projects.  He suggested financial support for the renting of premises and production and consumption activities.

To mark the event, 8 start-up projects in technology, the environment, trade and education were selected to receive financial aid from the centre to help bring them to fruition.
