Promoting close links with Australian businesses
An exchange session took place in the city on Monday between a number of businesses from Australia and Da Nang.
At the event, business representatives raised questions concerning the city’s policies on land leasing to foreign businesses and tax preferences. They also had concerns about the incentives given to foreign businesses who invest in the local tourism and service sectors, trade centre and resort projects, and hi-tech and dedicated IT parks.

The Deputy Director of the municipal Investment Promotion Centre, Ms Huynh Lien Phuong, proudly introduced to the participants the great efforts made by Da Nang over recent years to boost and renew local investment promotion activities. She said that Da Nang has also expanded its cooperation with many foreign partners to appeal for more investment into various aspects, including support and hi-tech industries, trade, logistics and the healthcare sector.
Deputy Director Phuong remarked that the city has been promoting investment into the local infrastructure and boosting high-quality services, with a focus on developing hi-tech and support projects especially environmentally- and climate-friendly ones. She said her city is willing to boost bilateral comprehensive cooperation with Australia on the basis of fully tapping the great potential and strengths of the two parties.
The Executive MBA Director of the University of Wollongong's Sydney Business School, Dr Lee E J Styger, praised the exchange session for establishing closer links between businesses from Australia and Da Nang. He said that businesses from his country are willing to boost bilateral cooperative ties with partners in Da Nang.
