Businesses back to work and chasing targets
By Monday (the 8th day of the 1st lunar month) almost all of Da Nang’s industrial businesses were back to normal operations after the 9-day Tet holiday break, and they will continue with their determined efforts to exceed this year’s targets.
In particular, the 29 March and Hoa Tho Textiles and Garments companies and Viet Hoa Electronics are aiming to raise their production targets respectively by 20%, 12% and 4.78% against 2015. The city branch of the Vietnam National Textile and Garments Group (Vinatex) is targeting to increase its output and revenue by 23%, and Dana-Italy Steel Company by 10%.

The General Director of the 29 March Textiles and Garments Company, Mrs Pham Thi Xuan Nguyet, said that her company has already received orders from its traditional customers through until the end of the year. She said that a ceremony will be held this year to mark the company’s 40th birthday and the 10th anniversary of its equitisation, and in this special year the company’s leaders and employees are determined to raise production. She remarked that the opening of their second suit factory in Thank Khe District in 2013 will help the company raise its export turnover to an estimated 60 million USD.
However, many enterprises are facing a serious shortage of short-term workers after Tet especially those in seafood processing, textiles and garments, electronics, and informatics. In an attempt to maintain stable production, these businesses have been planning since late last year to recruit more workers after Tet.
