March CPI expected to be down by 0.22%

Da Nang’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March is likely to have decreased by 0.22% against February. If so, this would be mainly attributed to the reduction in consumer demand after the Lunar New Year.
Over the month, the prices of 9 out of the 11 groups in the CPI calculations are expected to have fallen significantly. The highest decrease is predicted to be 3.6% down for transportation, following by restaurant and food services at 2.4%. The prices of the remaining 7 groups are likely to have reduced slightly or remained stable.
The prices of medicine and healthcare services, however, are likely to have jumped by around 24%, with education up 2.4%.
