Efforts to enhance tourism environment and seafood quality
In an effort to ensure that the recent spate of mass fish deaths will not negatively affect Da Nang’s tourism development and to reassure residents about clean fish, the municipal People’s Committee recently asked relevant agencies to do their utmost to ensure a safe tourism environment and seafood quality.
In particular, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will enhance local tourism facilities for visitors, and ensure the safety for them.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will work closely with the Management Board of the Tho Quang fishing wharf to increase their checks over the supplies of safe seafood to local markets. Special attention will be paid to continuing to take seawater samples for further testing and announce the results on the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment's website at http://www.tnmt.danang.gov.vn/ every two days.
The Department of Health will tighten its monitoring of food safety and hygiene, as well as ensure its readiness to deal with food poisoning cases.
The authorities in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts will increase their checks over food safety and hygiene at local food and drinking establishments.
