The Vice Director of the city’s Tourism Department, Mr Tran Chi Cuong, told Vietnam News that the tour service would create even more real experience for the city’s sight-seers.

He said the Department, in cooperation with other local relevant agencies, was exploring possible bus routes linking the city with Hoi An.

Cuong said the bus system has been awaiting approval from the Ministry of Transport, which had not yet allowed the operation of open-top double-decker buses in Viet Nam.

In 2012, the city introduced battery-powered cars for tourists traveling along coastal destinations as a promotion for environmentally friendly public vehicle use.

The city lies within easy reach of the country’s best heritage icons, including Phong Nha-Ke Bang in Quang Binh, the UNESCO-recognised world heritage Hue monument complex, Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary and a world biosphere reserve, Cu Lao Cham (Cham Islands) in Quang Nam.
