Handicraft exports cooperative wins trust of customers
Over recent years, the Bao Trung Handicraft Product Export Cooperative has been affirming its position in its international consumer market and has earned between 1.3 and 1.4 million USD from exports every year.
For many years, the Cooperative’s products, mainly bamboo tea and fruit trays, have been exported to Japan and have won the trust of this country’s customers. Last year, the Cooperative earned 1.3 million USD in revenue from exporting 150,000 items.

Mr Ha Tan Vinh, Deputy Director of the Cooperative, said “To meet the requirements of international-standard products from our Japanese customers, they often send their handicraft experts to our Cooperative to check on the quality of our input material sources and finished products, as well as our production machinery and processes”.
The Chairman of the city's Cooperative Alliance, Mr Nguyen Hong Van, praised the Cooperative for its great efforts in upgrading its facilities and its production machines, and applying advanced technology in the production processes to make products which satisfy the requirements of the tough consumer markets like Japan.
He also noted that the Cooperative creates many job opportunities for local residents, especially those from rural areas. It now has between 60 and 70 employees, and there are over 200 employees and dozens of drivers working in the Cooperative’s 5 satellite facilities in Quang Nam Province.
Mr Van added that the Cooperative’s remarkable achievements can be mainly attributed to the great devotion and strategic planning of its leaders. In addition, the unit has focused on providing training courses for its employees to help them improve their professional skills, and it has opening more factories to create even more jobs for local residents.
