Customs officers at the Da Nang Port recently detected and temporarily seized a large volume of aluminium ingots and copper suspected of being illegally smuggled out through the port.

Customs declaration papers state that the seized items, which were in 6 containers, were being exported to Thailand and India by the Thanh Hai Company Ltd in Binh Dinh Province’s Quy Nhon City.  They had been declared as packages of rags and classified in the green lane.

The customs officers are currently identifying the exact weight and the total value of the seized items in order to compile a dossier on the case for further investigation.
