Singaporean business delegates showed a keen interest in learning about the city’s priority aspects such as information technology (IT), renewable energy, and its hi-tech industrial park (IP). Some issues relating to the city’s infrastructure development and its labour force, as well as the city’s preferential policies for foreign investors, were also discussed.
Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh vowed that the local authorities would create very favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Singapore, to implement their projects effectively in the city. The focus will be on developing the city’s synchronous infrastructure systems for IT and hi-tech IPs, issuing more incentives for investors, accelerating local administrative reforms, and training high-quality human resources.
Ms Vu Thi Bich Thu, chief representative of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Viet Nam (Vietcombank) in Singapore, pledged that her bank would offer loans to any Singaporean investors wanting to operate in Da Nang.
Singapore is currently the city's largest foreign investor with 22 projects worth around 782 million USD. These projects mainly involve the processing industry, real estate, construction, and education.
